Shelly's notes: "It was the 1920s designs of Cartier that firmly established Art Deco stylism in jewelry. Abbreviated lines, symmetry, the combination of circular and linear elements these are the hallmarks of that style. Lapidary carving of flowers and fruits in gemstones carried over into the glass elements of costume jewels. The Pendant - The new fashion of drop waist, corset-less dresses with open necklines brought on the demand for long dramatic necklaces. Any flapper would have swooned for ours. Textured chain links alternate with olivine glass flowers and faceted jet beads and double sided stations inset with iridescent glass flowers. A tropical deco arrangement of enamel leaves and glass flowers grasp the large jet glass faceted teardrop pendant. Wear it long or double it around your neck, pulling the pendant through the loop for a lariat style."
