Designer's notes: "Featured is an exquisite item from our Sweet Romance collection. It is Sweet Romance's Chinese Chinoiserie Iridescent Necklace. “Chinoiserie” describes the styling of decorative arts to reflect Chinese artistic influence. In the 20th century, glass factories of Bohemia produced elements of different vernacular styles to appeal to the emerging fashion jewelry industry. Glass buttons and bibelots of Asian design were imported by American manufacturers to fuel the fashion for Chinoiserie.

The Pendant: This enamel symbol is derived from the character for friendship. It embraces an ornate glass "amulet" brilliantly back-lacquered in blue-to-turquoise. Hundreds of faceted jet glass beads form the triple strand necklace, anchored with labrador set flowers. French process burnished silver."
