Shopping Ins'n'Outs

I saw an item that I really want, but it says "Temp Sold Out". Will you be getting more?

If the item is marked "Temporarily Sold Out," it means that we plan to re-stock when it becomes available again from the manufacturer. If an item is truly no longer available, we either take it off the site or put it on our Sold Out Page. We have many styles in the various shopping categories on the site that we re-order on a continuous basis. Also, we always try to order items in a range of sizes since, as we know, there are all shapes and sizes of girls out there.

If you want to be notified when an item comes back into stock, go ahead and contact us and we'll put you on the waiting list!

We have received a lot of feedback that we should order more items in large sizes and/or plus sizes. We always try to do this. The problem is that these are the most popular sizes. If what you see is only available in a small or medium on the site, that usually means the larger sizes have sold out and not that we only ordered it in the smaller sizes. Please shoot *us* an email to see if the item in which you are interested is still available in your size. We are constantly expanding our Plus Size Clothing & Lingerie categories. If you don't see something that strikes your fancy today, you just might tomorrow.

Do you offer sales or discounts to loyal customers like moi?

Of course we do! But you won't know about our sales or discounts unless you sign up for our newsletter!

Do your shoes run small?

Most of our shoes run true-to-size. If a specific style of shoe does run large or small, we try to make that very clear within the item description. When in doubt, use the contact form to ask us. But be specific about the brand and style of shoe you are inquiring about!

Where can I find sizing information?

On the Sizing Guide Page of course!

I'm a UK size 5 shoe. What size shoe should I buy?

This is a tricky one! We strive to minimize costly exchanges for our international friends, but no shoe conversion chart is perfect. If you peek at the Sizing Guide Page, you will find a fairly accurate shoe conversion chart. It is, however, just approximate sizing. The best way to determine if the shoe will fit is to send us your foot measurements, from heel to toe-tip, and let us know which style of shoe you are interested in, and we will do our best to find the right size for your footsies.

Will you measure a certain pair of shoes / item of clothing for me to ensure it will fit?

Believe us, we don't like the hassle of returns anymore than you do! The best way to prevent a future fit issue is to get accurate measurements before purchasing. First you should consult the Sizing Guide Page. If you are still in doubt, go ahead and send along your measurements to us, let us know the item(s) you are interested in, and we'll whip out the old measuring tape and do our best to get you the right size!

Do you have a wishlist service?

Do you ship to (insert my country here) ?

We ship to countries all over this big old world! We currently ship to: Canada, the UK, Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Austria, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, South Africa, Korea, Japan and Singapore, and several other countries. We are always adding new countries to the list! Is your country not listed? Email us!

How much will shipping cost?

We have a handy shipping calculator on our shopping cart page that will total your shipping costs for you! Just put all of the items you desire into your shopping cart, and use the shipping calculator to determine the amount! Easy peasy! You do not need to enter any credit card info or personal info into the shopping cart to use the shipping calculator.

Do you ship to APO/FPO military addresses?

Yes we do, HOWEVER we ship through the Unites States Postal Service. If you know a package will not make it to your military address in time for a special event you have scheduled because we ship through the USPS, then please consider shopping elsewhere. All shipments to APO/FPO addresses receive 10% off their order by entering military upon checkout.

I live in a country that isn't on your list. Can I still shop with you?

We might be able to work something out. Please use the contact form and let us know where you live and the items you wish to purchase, and we'll go from there.

I purchased shoes days ago and they haven't shipped yet! Where's my stuff??

We have a 72 hour processing period for all orders. Some of our shoes are marked "Please allow 7 - 10 days for shipping" within the item description. That is in addition to the 72 hour processing period. If you need your shoes in a hurry, please read the item description carefully and make note of whether or not they are in stock and ready to ship, or will require 7 to 10 business days.

But I paid for Express Shipping!?!

We understand. But we still have a 72 hour processing period. And the shoes that take 7 to 10 business days to ship are still going to take 7 to 10 days to ship, even if you choose Express Mail. You will, however, get them lickety-split when the do ship!

How can I track my package?

When you make your purchase, you will receive an order confirmation via email which will contain a link to check the status of your order. Once your package has shipped, the information will be updated to include a tracking number. Head on over to www.usps.com or www.ups.com, plug in that tracking number, and you can see the current status of the shipment. This is the quickest way to find out the status of your order, rather than asking us in an email which will take 24 to 48 hours to get a response.

Why don't you offer free shipping on ALL orders like other web stores?

We could, but then we'd have to jack up the prices on all of our merchandise, like those web stores of which you speak. Momma always told us there's no such thing as a free lunch, or free shipping.

My package only cost $xx to ship but you charged me more than that. What gives? Will you reimburse me?

Our shipping fee is not just for postage, ya know. It's a shipping and handling fee, which we use to purchase supplies such as colorful tissue paper in which our shipping monkeys, whom we also pay, lovingly wrap your purchases.

I recently placed an order and when I checked the status, it shows that the package has been delivered. I did not receive my package. What do I do?

First thing you should do is check your order confirmation email and verify that the address you entered is correct. It's your responsibility to make sure that the shipping address is correct. We are not responsible for lost/stolen packages due to customers submitting incorrect shipping addresses.

If you have confirmed that the shipping address was correct, the next step is to speak to someone at the post office. Check around with your neighbors. If you live in an apartment building, check the on-site office or ask the manager.

Do you ship Signature Confirmation?

We automatically send all packages containing merchandise valued at over $75 with signature confirmation, as well as all purchases made with American Express. We can offer Signature Confirmation OR insurance at your request for lesser amounts (see "Can I request Insurance for my shipment" below).

Can I request Insurance or Signature Confirmation for my shipment?

If you feel like your neighborhood is unsafe, you might want to consider having your items sent with insurance and/or signature confirmation. Please make a note "PLEASE CHARGE MY CARD FOR ADDITIONAL INSURANCE/SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION" in the notes/comments section of your shopping cart.

When we process your order, we will modify your order to include your new shipping totals for the additional shipping charges. You will receive an email notification showing your final total.

The post office says that my package was delivered and signed for by me, but I never got it. Now what?

This is a very unfortunate situation, but our policies indicate that we are not responsible for your package once it is in the hands of the US Post Office. We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Please direct all claims and inquiries regarding lost and stolen items to the US Post Office. Please refer to our Shipping Info Page, and Legal Notices Page for more information.

Hey! Why did you take take my shoes out of their boxes prior to shipment?!

***Please note: We reserve the right to remove all footwear from the manufacturer's boxes for packages bound for international destinations to save on shipping costs. Both USPS and UPS assess HEFTY surcharges for boxes that exceed certain dimensional weight values.***

Paying for Your Order

Do you accept PayPal?

Hell yes! In fact, we prefer it as it allows us to receive your payment faster. Don't Have a PayPal Account? You don't need a one! Pay us securely through PayPal using your regular credit card. Once you have are ready to purchase your fabulous finds, simply indicate you would like to use PayPal as your method of payment - Click the PayPal Logo at the end of your order screens (don't worry, we guide you!), then click the button that says,"If you do not currently have a PayPal account, CLICK HERE." (No, you don't have to sign up). At the next screen, you can enter your billing information and credit card info. There... see? That was easy!

Can I pay with a Money Order? What about Layaway?

We no longer accept Money Orders and we do not have a layaway system. If you don't have a credit or debit card, but you've got some cash and you want to do a little web shoppin', might we suggest that you purchase yourself a gift card or temporary debit card? You can find them at convenience stores, grocery stores, and all sorts of places. Then you can shop your heart out online!

Returns & Exchanges

My item doesn't fit. Can I send it back?

We will happily extend a 100% in-store credit (minus shipping and handling) on unsatisfactory items. Please visit our Returns & Exchanges Policies Page for additional information.

How does store credit work? Do you send me a code or somethin?

Within 21 business days of receiving your returned item, you will receive an email containing a store credit code which you can use just like a coupon at checkout. BabygirlBoutique.com store credit does not have to be used all at once. If you have a remaining balance after your order, we will keep that for you for future purchases. We will keep your code on file and it is valid for 1 full year after the date of issue. Once again, your remaining balance credit will be valid for one year from the date it was originally issued.

Can I return lingerie?

No. Please use common sense. Does it touch your "intimate" areas? Then please don't return it. If you do, we will send it right back to you.

How about swimwear?

Swimwear can be returned if 1) You try it on over your undies (this is the honor system, kids, so we're counting on you to be honest!); 2) The tags are still attached; 3) The sanitary strip has not been removed; and 4) It is returned in its original packaging. How about items I wore once for a photoshoot? I was secretly hoping to return some items I wore once for a photoshoot in exchange for store credit to purchase my next wardrobe for my next photoshoot. (I am hoping to hear back from Playboy soon - I am so excited!). Is this possible?

Please contact us via the Contact Form or you can reach us the old fashioned way with the Customer Service phone number located at the top of the website. We will get back to your email requests within 24 hours, and your phone calls will be answered within 72 hours. If you want to check the status of your order, though, the quickest way is to follow the link in your order confirmation email.

What is the best way to reach you gals?

Email is best, through our Contact Form. We have savvy web monkeys standing by to answer your queries within 24 hours! (excluding weekends, when web monkeys rest)

Who the hell are you guys anyway?

We're a gaggle of type-G-is-for-geek fashionistas who enjoy jamming to groovy musica. Our passions include fashion, collecting, photography, fun, humor, geekage....and, well, we can't let all our cats out of the bag, now can we? Oh yeah...and then there's Fashion! Yes, fashion is the passion du jour, friends. After all, nothing pieces together your identity better to outsiders than your appearance, especially your fashion choices. Clothes, accessories, shoes; these items hint to (or downright shout) anything from your mood to your aesthetics to your priorities. As such, fashion becomes an artistic form of creative expression. And that's what its all about, kittens, don't you agree?

In terms of our "buying leanings", we have very voracious, eclectic "eyes." We tend to favor imaginative, indie, and generally alternative brands, labels and designers. We have a love affair with all things retro, rockabilly and vintage-inspired.

Do you gals know what youíre doing?

We have been running Babygirl Inc./Babygirl Boutique since 2002. We also own and operate two other online stores. We've owned and operated brick & mortar retail stores in the past, as well, including a vintage home decor and accessories store. We have approximately 24 years of experience in the retail industry.

Where is BGB located?

We are located in the metro area of Portland, Oregon in the North Western United States.

Can I model for your awesome site?

We are extremely flattered that you would like to model for us! We currently are working with Portland/Seattle Metro area modeling talent. So, by all means, Portland or Seattle based model, drop us a line! Please provide us with links to either your Facebook page, Model Mayhem profile, or personal website. Let us know your turnaround time for photos. Sending an email that says, "Hi, I'd love to model for you" with no pics or links to any websites or model directory profile page won't do anyone much good!
